Atlas of Digital Architecture
Marco Hemmerling is Professor of Computational Design in Architecture at Cologne University of Applied Sciences and visiting professor at Politecnico di Milano, School of Architecture and Urban Planning. Previously he was professor at Detmold School of Architecture and Interior Design and director of the post-graduate Master programme Computational Design and Construction at East-Westphalia University of Applied Sciences.
He studied architecture at Bauhaus University Weimar, Politecnico di Milano, and Bochum University of Applied Sciences. During his several years as project architect at UNStudio in Amsterdam, he was jointly responsible for the design and realisation of the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.
Marco is a founding partner of SPADE Studio and a co-opted member both of the Association of German Architects (BDA) and of the German Association of Craftsmen (DWB). In his work he aims to link technological advancements to spatial qualities in a human-centred design approach.
